As our Head of Europe, Mary Kerr is responsible for the company's business across the continent.
Mary led GSK's European Critical Diseases Business Unit (CDBU) from 2004-2009, after initially serving as its Marketing Director. During her tenure, the CDBU evolved from an idea into a flourishing European business.
She joined GSK in 1989 and held a number of field-based roles. Following this, Mary spent three years in product management before becoming Business Unit Head, Neurosciences and Antibiotics in the UK in 1995. Her first European post followed two years later, when she was appointed Director, European Market Development (Cardiovascular, Respiratory, and Metabolic & Oncology) and then Group Director and Head of European Market Development. In 1999 she became Group Director and Head of the Global Product Strategy Neurosciences and Gastrointestinal team. Following the merger that created GSK, she spent two years as VP, Pharmacogenetics and Diagnostics in R&D.
Mary holds a BSc and PhD in Pharmacology gained from the University of Bradford and an MBA from the University of Kingston.. Prior to joining GSK, Mary spent one year as a BTG-funded Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Michigan Cancer Foundation in Detroit.
