Other current and recent projects

Positive Action and the Global Village at the International AIDS Conference Washington, D.C., Vienna, Mexico City, Toronto and Bangkok.

In 2004 Positive Action supported the creation of a new forum for the HIV community at the International AIDS Conference in Bangkok – the Global Village. As the principal sponsor of the subsequent Global Villages in Toronto, Mexico City and Vienna, Positive Action has helped this innovation emerge as a significant and essential conference opportunity for communities affected by HIV.

This community space fosters networking within and across regions and populations, and sharing of ideas through programmed sessions, exhibitions and materials. The Global Village is also the only part of the International AIDS Conference that is open to non-delegates from local communities, extending the benefits of its programme to thousands more visitors.
