Reducing the Impact of Lost to Follow Up

HIV environment in Spain

It is estimated that 20% of PLHIV in Spain are ‘lost’ between initial and follow-up medical appointments.1 With an estimated 135,000 people living with HIV (PLHIV), this equates to between 12,000 and 17,000 patients that do not have their HIV adequately controlled and monitored in Spain.1 This includes PLHIV who do not return for a follow-up appointment and or do not attend consultations regularly.
