Positive Action for Girls & Women

Helping to tackle the harmful cultural norms that both limit the aspirations of girls and women, and increase their vulnerability to HIV.

Across the globe, adolescent girls and young women have a significantly higher risk of HIV infection than their male counterparts, with HIV prevalence almost seven times higher in some parts of the world.[1]

Positive Action for Girls and Women (PAGW) is committed to tackling key behavioural and structural barriers that may increase adolescent girls’ and young women’s vulnerability to HIV.

ViiV Healthcare has committed £2 million per year over five years (2015 – 2020) to encourage community-led interventions that target adolescent girls and young women worldwide. We will seek to fund projects that address sexual violence, harmful practices, early marriage, and sexual and reproductive health and rights for underserved adolescent girls and young women.
